Maria Jana Kingsley-Godwin BSc (Hons) Studies in Natural Sciences, HPD-Dipl (Higher Professional Diploma) in Healthcare studies, DipMedSci (Advanced Higher Professional Diploma) - Master’s Degree Level in Medicine and Healthcare - is an Author, Medical Writer and Healthcare Professional who has published many books and articles on different subjects, including stories, medical and healthcare matters.
She is currently an Intern Medical Doctor/House Physician finalising her studies for her higher Doctor of Medicine Degree (MD), and she is also undertaking higher research studies in medicine – level 8 PhD equivalent level in public health, medical matters, and surgical issues.
Maria Jana also works as a Health and Social Care Officer/Medical Administrator in the Healthcare Sector and as an Editor – Editorial Officer/Medical Writer for various scientific and medical journals.
Maria Jana’s medical research involves the effects of food on health, neurosurgery, neurosciences, neurology, paediatric surgery, forensic medicine, healthcare matters, the impact of chronic diseases in the community, co-morbidity matters, epidemiology, and public health issues, surgical diseases, infectious diseases/tuberculosis, dermatology, gastroenterology, urology, nutrition/food insecurity, child health, and applied sciences in healthcare.
Maria Jana’s professional interests look at various issues in neurological surgery, paediatric and child health matters, issues in surgical practices, co-morbidities in common diseases found in the community like cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, chronic diseases, diabetes and respiratory diseases, surgical treatments of different diseases, both in adult and paediatric populations, epidemiology, urology, orthopaedics, advances in neurosciences, neurological diseases, dermatology, autoimmune diseases and unusual encounters in tuberculosis in various organs and systems, and in different demographics.
Her specialist interests include General Medical Matters, Surgery, Neurosurgery Surgery, Public Health, Global Health Issues, Infectious Diseases, Neurological Surgery, Neurology and Neurosciences, Paediatrics, Nutrition/Food Insecurity, Pathology/Forensic Medicine, Medical Rehabilitation, Medical Emergencies, Disaster Medicine, World History, Geography, Demography, innovations in Medicine, Evidence-based Medicine, Medical Education, Medical Informatics, History of Medicine, English Literature and various languages.
As Maria Jana has knowledge and skills in various branches of medicine and surgery, she has a very long publications list, dealing with all areas in medicine, surgery, and healthcare issues. As such, she is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed papers and articles in various medical and scientific journals, many books, and 11 reports, and seven (7) educational guides, which can also be found at the British Library and other national and international libraries via the Legal Deposit processes for publications. About 29 of her research papers are currently indexed in SCOPUS and over 90 of her research articles and papers are indexed in other online databases.
Maria Jana has participated in over 32 Scientific International Medical Conferences, where she has given over 40 presentations and facilitated/taught over 12 educational and research workshops and interactive sessions to the multi-professional health care workers and medical/healthcare students.
Maria Jana is a member of various professional bodies and clubs. She also serves in different Committees and Executive Committees of different societies.

Maria Jana was the winner of the Rector’s prize and award for excellent student in 2019 in the Medical University, as she achieved the best excellent average marks of 6.0 marks in all subjects in medicine. She received a scholarship payment as a result of this award.

Maria Jana presented 44 projects and facilitated some workshops on dermatology, chronic diseases, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, infectious diseases, eating disorders and co-morbidity issues at various international medical conferences in July, August, November and December from 2015 to 2023.
